Hello to all at Coral Cove Marina from James & Patti – British yacht La Aventura. We would like to say a big THANK YOU to you all – Blair and the yard team, and all the office staff. We were so pleased that we decided on Coral Cove for our lift-out and maintenance. Being a smaller and more personal operation gives you a big advantage. We have already highly recommended your marina and yard to other cruisers we know are heading your way.

There are several choices for yachting facilities in Chaguaramas. However, what sets Coral Cove apart from the other facilities are the employees. The staff at Coral Cove is friendly, competent, efficient, and professional. It is clear that the goal of each staff member is simple; customer service. You ask once, and it gets done properly; on time, on budget…simple. That is why Coral Cove continues to be my choice in Chaguaramus !

We would just like to say thanks for the good times we have had in Coral Cove. As you know this is our second time here, we have always enjoyed ourselves. Thanks to the security for looking after our boat during the three months that we were at home visiting in South Africa, also to Blair and his team for lifting us out of the water and making sure that we were secure on the hard once out. A job well done, at no time did we have any concerns while our boat was being moved. Thanks also to the admin guys in Coral Cove for always being friendly and taking care of our admin needs.

We have always enjoyed our Friday night barbecues as well as the many guitar practices that we have had. So again thanks for everything that you guys have done, we always look forward to coming back to Trinidad.

Kind regards
John and Jo Gordon

The sailing vessel Liahona has spent the last two hurricane seasons in the water at Coral Cove Marina in Chaguaramas, Trinidad. Coral Cove Marina is conveniently located with many amenities at the boatyard and in the vicinity. The Marina has a large area for boats on the hard, a travel lift and skilled boat maintenance and repair workers. In the immediate vicinity, there is an ATM machine, a convenience store, a pizzeria, a café featuring traditional dishes, and several boat part shops. Within walking distance, there are sail, canvas and upholstery shops, and large chandleries. The Marina itself has a swimming pool with a covered patio and a barbecue. Cruisers gather at the pool for water aerobics, barbecues, pot luck dinners, singing and jamming, or just liming. The cruising community is international, featuring circumnavigators and trans-oceanic boaters from all over the world. We have very much enjoyed spending summers here, meeting new people, catching up with friends, and touring the lovely island of Trinidad. We look forward to returning next year.

Letty and I are owners of a 52′ heavy displacement sailing ketch. For the past 10 years we have been going to Trinidad as our hurricane hole and to complete our annual maintenance. We generally stay in Trinidad about five months.

We discovered Coral Cove Martina in 2006 and among all of the outstanding facilities in Chaguaramas, we have chosen Coral Cove Marina and Shipyard as our sailing home while we are in Trinidad. There are many, many reasons why we choose CoralCove above all the others.

First, the most outstanding feature at Coral Cove is the dedicated, hard working and knowledgeable staff. The haul-out staff is professional, pays attention to safety, focuses on the customer as well as the boat and is very flexible in our needs and requests. We trust the haul-out staff completely and give them high marks.

Second, the office staff is always dedicated to the well being of the customer and provides us a direct link to the marina manager. The office staff has been able to solve many administrative problems one encounters while in the shipyard.

Third, the attitude of the staff in Coral Cove Shipyard and Marina seems to be one more aligned with a team or family concept. Letty and I always feel we are members of the Coral Cove family and we are always extended respect and dignity at every level.

Fourth, the facilities at Coral Cove are such that a yachtsman doing maintenance on his vessel can span the continuum from complete do it yourself to hire outside contractors to complete the job. We balance our work problems by doing ourselves what we can, and farming out those jobs that are beyond our skill level. Our point is that it is ok either way, which is a real positive attribute of Coral Cove Shipyard.

Fifth, the electricity and water at Coral Cove is always up to snuff and their outlets can facilitate 220USA, 220EU, 120USA and EU.

Sixth, Samana is a 40 ton steel vessel. The shipyard staff treats Samana like one of their own and we are always given special consideration during the rainy season regarding blocking.

There is always the issue of security and crime. Coral Cove has initiated in the last two years a significant emphasis on vessel security. They have installed new swing gates. When the owner is absent, security supervisors personally check each vessel and tags are placed on vessels with absentee owners to see if they have been entered in a forceful way. We appreciate this very much and give Coral Cove high marks on their security efforts.

Finally, Coral Cove places a high emphasis on cleanliness around the shipyard and the marina. Garbage is picked up every day and shipyard clutter is maintained very well. The cleanliness at Coral Cove exceeds our expectations.

Letty and I extend Coral Cove our highest recommendation and we continue to call Coral Cove our sailing home while in Trinidad.
